SciFinder Scholar requires client software for either Apple Macintosh or MS Windows. This software provides simple point and click access to the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) databases including Chemical Abstracts, Registry, CASREACT, CHEMCATS, and CHEMLIST. SciFinder Scholar 2006/2007 includes access to MEDLINE and OLD MEDLINE databases. A client needs to be installed only once until CAS issues a new version. Current SciFinder Scholar 2000/2001/2002/2004 users should upgrade to SciFinder Scholar 2006/2007. No special training or knowledge of search command languages are required. UC users have access to 30 ports, simultaneously, on a 24-hour basis from valid campus IP addresses. Users should logout as soon as searches are completed.

Available daily except Saturday 19:00 to 22:00 PST (7pm to 10pm)
On the first Saturday of each month, SciFinder Scholar will unavailable from 14:00 until 22:00 PST (2pm to 10pm).
